At my day job, I work as a software engineer developing apps in Ruby on Rails and Java, collaborating with crossfunctional teams on human-centered design in enterprise government technology.
Leading with lived experience: Josh Stroud is a software engineer passionate about human-centered technology. He found his way to Code for America through his lived experience with California’s social safety net. Before software, he worked on medical devices like smart prosthetics, robotic eating aids for Parkinson’s Disease, and neuromodulation for sleep. He got his start at a technology studio which serves government and commercial customers. Outside of work, Josh enjoys exploring the San Francisco Bay, connecting with friends and family, and attending local tech events. Josh graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in mechanical engineering and EECS, and coding bootcamp App Academy.
As a part-time nights and weekends founder of AGILEND, I work on a variety of machine learning tools and software, including my flagship talk Chips, Zips, and Bits: Deep Learning for Coders ⚡️.
Sana is a digital heath company driven by 25 years of research into relief for symptoms of chronic pain and insomnia. Sana is developing the first non-invasive, comfortable bio-therapeutic device capable of inducing a deep restorative state of relaxation to alleviate pain and tension. The device provides relief in just 10 minutes through the use of audio-visual neuromodulation, and is currently undergoing FDA certification and clinical trials.
